My poetry resembles the slam poetry style. Its purpose is to highlight injustices in the education system, especially how children from diverse language and cultural backgrounds may be treated by society and the education system in the US. Sometimes my poems serve as my expression of the challenges of the teaching professions, but also the rewards of meeting some of the coolest kids on this earth. At other times, my poems describe what some students might be feeling. Of course, my poetry is filtered through my own lens and my own experiences. However limited they may be, they always change as new experiences flood me daily. Thus, my poetry is never static. It evolves. But it always hopes for justice. It believes in justice.
